Tamil Puliyodharai Recipe in Kovil Iyengar Style Preparation


Tamil Puliyodharai Recipe
Tamil Puliyodharai Recipe Prepared in Iyengar style is the favorite variety rice recipe of many Tamil language people and if we try kovil puliyodharai recipe Tamil Nadu style at home we can not get the original taste.  Here I have give the preparation method for Tamilnadu puliyodharai recipe prepared by iyengar people.

Tamil Puliyodharai Recipe Ingredients
Cooked Rice – 2 cups (non sticky)
Tamarind - size of a lemon
Red Chilli - 10,
Bengal Gram dal - 3 tbsp + 1,
Groundnut - 2 tsp,
Coriander seeds - 2 tsp,
Fenugreek seeds -  1/2 tsp,
Sesame - 4 tsp,
Mustard - 1/2 tsp,
Curry leaves - a little,
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp,
Jaggery - little,
Salt - as needed,
Gingelly oil - 5 tsp

How to prepare Kovil puliyodharai recipe Tamil
Add half tsp of gingelly oil in the hot cooked rice for separation and keep it aside.
Soak the tamarid, extract the juice (add little water)  mix the turmeric power and salt.
Take Chilli(5), coriander fenugreek , 3tsp Bengal gram fry it and make powder.
Fry the sesame separately, make powder and keep it aside.
Take a pan add some oil, and sauté mustard, red chillies, bangal gram ground nut and curry leaves.
Then add the tamarind juice and jiggery and let it to boil until the raw smell goes off.
Then add the powdered Tamil Puliyodharai Recipe ingredients with the tamarind juice.
Sauté until the oil separates form the mixture and cool it for some time. then mix with rice as per your taste.
Add gingelly oil or ghee while mixing the rice with Puliyodharai mix.
